Sensing and Activating Your Power Centre
Awareness Through Movement ®

An ATM® session for sensing and activating your power centre.
Start standing and feel your posture. It is important not to change anything but just sense how you stand. Sense the distribution of your weight over your feet and how your head, shoulders and pelvis are organised. And then please lie on the floor.
No props are required for this lesson, but if your head is falling backwards when lying on the floor then a thin head cushion bringing your chin and forehead on the same plane/same line is acceptable. Please do not use a traditional pillow or cushion as this is likely to push your head too far forwards creating compression in the pelvis.
Please be aware that if you have any concerns about whether the exercises are right for you, do not do them unless, and until, you have clearance from your doctor or medical team. This is especially important if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any other pre-existing medical health conditions. Our programmes are not a substitute for medical counselling. As with any exercise, if you begin to feel faint, dizzy or have physical discomfort, then please stop. You are responsible for listening to your body and exercising within your limits and seeking advice and attention as appropriate.
We hope you enjoy our classes.
